Medela's FingerFeeder has been created for babies who require small amounts of human milk (especially their mother's colostrum) or other essential nutritional supplements.The carer first attaches the FingerFeeder to a syringe, then enters one finger into the baby's mouth and slides the FingerFeeder along the finger, causing the finger to sink deeper into the mouth. When the baby tries to hold on and apply suction force to the carer's finger, the carer presses down on the syringe to force the liquid into the child's mouth. In this way, the carer encourages the baby to strengthen its natural sucking flexes.
It is made from soft silicone and can be reused after being cleaned according to the instructions.
