How to encourage baby to learn to talk?

While during the first few months, a child’s language is limited to babbling and chirping, very quickly, bébéprét a particular interest in words and voices.
Each child learns at his own pace, and as a parent, we must accompany him during this learning process. Here are a few practical tips to help your child learn language from an early age.

Talk to baby as soon as he arrives

One of the easiest ways to introduce children to voices and language is to talk to them.

Throughout the day, as long as they are being watched, just talk to them. There is no need to use onomatopoeia or gibberish: speak to him or her naturally, adopting a more relaxed rhythm and a slightly singsonger intonation.

This is the famous “speak nourishes“. Using everyday vocabulary will stimulate the babies by familiarizing them with the language and vocabulary. Their attention is naturally focused on their direct environment, so this is the way to expose them to language from birth.

This actively participates in the development of understanding in the child.

Sing songs and rhymes to baby

When mom or dad sing the ditty, bébé's zygomatic often begin to activate.

Two things happen:

  • He recognizes the singing voice.
  • He is captivated by the rhythm of the words and the melody.

This is simply an enjoyable moment for him. Moreover, as he grows up and begins to stammer a few words, the child often tries to repeat the words at the same time as his parents (in his nascent language).
Among other tips, attach signs and gestures to the words of songs. Your little one will pick up on them at the same time as you do. This is for him the goal of the appropriation of (body) language and communication.

Play with your child

Playing is a vehicle for learning, à tout âge.

The fun it provides facilitates assimilation. So, when you are playing together, don't forget to name all the objects around you or in your games. This way, your child will be able to learn the names of all the objects in his or her immediate environment.

During these moments, parents and children must talk. At least, the little ones will start to imitate their parents’phrasing or articulation. This is a great way to encourage real, chosen, structured, and articulate words.

The great thing about games is that they can be adapted to any age. In practical terms, shared activities with children are a good way for them to enrich their vocabulary, without feeling the strain of learning.

Do not hesitate to use a varied vocabulary

Another way to encourage bébé à enrich his vocabulary is the frequent use of synonyms.
Do not hesitate to rephrase certain sentences, insisting that the meaning is not different by changing certain words. Bé understands little by little how to compose a sentence, and how to nuance his language. Both in terms of language learning and cognitive development, the child will more easily grasp the differences in intent between your sentences. He will seek to grasp what is being said around him.

Remember to introduce your baby to the world

Allowing your little one to meet other babies or children will have a positive effect on his or her language learning.

We change during meals

Before you go to the table, you have to cook. Precisely, if you can, while you prepare your daily recipes, comment on what you are doing to your child.

On the one hand, it will cover that food passes through cooking and preparation, and on the other hand, it will learn the names of foods and accessories useful in everyday life. Among the steps of language learning, this way of doing things by commenting on what is being done allows the child to get used to the language and the voices of the adults around him, but he will also learn the vocabulary he hears.
Sure, all this is done small, a little every day, but quickly, you will discover that bé knows a lot about his environment!!

Always remember: every child learns at his or her own pace

As a parent, don't compare your child too much to others. Especially during the first few months of life and the early stages of language development, each little one moves at his or her own pace.

Make sure that he or she is simply stimulated enough, and aware of the value of communication and language. On the other hand, don't try to push him to talk at all costs. Each person processes information in their own way. Your baby may be learning every day without talking too much. However, he or she is storing up a lot of information, which he or she will begin to use or articulate when he or she feels the need or is ready.
In reality, you must spend time with your baby, talk to him in an intelligible way as often as possible, take the time to play with him and try to socialize him. By doing all this, you will see, your little one will quickly become a real chatterbox!
